Presenter Help presentations
CMS

You can upload entire PDF’s directly into Presenter using the ‘Upload presentation from PDF’ functionality. To access this feature please go here: ‘Presentations > Upload Presentation > From PDF’. This feature works best when the ‘aspect ratio’ of your PDF is the same as the Presenter slide viewer.

Please note: The ‘Upload presentation from PDF’ functionality is not, by policy, active for all system users.

If you just want to add one or two slides from your PDF then you need to export your PDF to a JPEG format first. There are a number of online tools to help you do this, for example: http://pdftoimage.com. Once you have your PDF as a JPEG – simply use the ‘Full Screen Image’ template to upload it as a slide in your presentation.

To use PowerPoint slides in your presentation, first you need to export the content as a high quality image. Follow the instructions below:

  • In PowerPoint, choose: File > Export
  • The default PPT export format is PDF – don’t use that – instead, click the ‘Change File Type’ button
  • Now select ‘JPEG’ as your format. Then choose ‘Save As’
  • PowerPoint will ask you where you want to save the file – make your choice
  • It will then ask you if you want to export all slides (if you have created more than one), or just the one you have selected – make your choice

PowerPoint will export your slide as a JPEG image (or series of JPEG images) and save it in the place you told it to.

Once you have your presentation in a JPEG format – you have two options:

  1. Upload the entire presentation into Presenter using the ‘Upload Presentation from Images’ feature here: ‘Presentations > Upload Presentation > From Images’.
Please note: The ‘Upload presentation from Images’ functionality is not, by policy, active for all system users.
  2. Use the ‘Full Screen Image’ template to upload individual images as slides in the Presenter system

Please note: the default size of a PowerPoint presentation when exported is normally 1280 x 720 pixels. You may even find that some older versions only export at 960 x 540 pixels. These resolutions are lower than the standard for Presenter presentations – which by default are 1366 x 768 pixels. This can mean that when you upload PowerPoint slides into Presenter, the quality is not as good as it could be.

If you want to match the slide quality that Presenter can offer – we have created a PPT template that you can use which is set up with the correct settings. When you create PowerPoint slides using this template – and export them as images (as set out above) – your exported image should be the correct size for Presenter – 1366 x 768 pixels.

You can download the template from the documents section of the Presenter CMS. Go to “Documents and choose the category ‘System Documents’ and you will find “PPT template for Presenter (Windows)”.

General

In certain circumstances you can download presentations as PDF’s, but it will depend on the type of content in question, as there are some limitations regarding this. Companyapp presentations have dynamic, interactive and animated features that it is not possible to reproduce in a PDF, which is generally a static format. Therefore you will find that certain interactive or animated slides don’t work as intended in a PDF format.

Please note: PDF download functionality is not, by policy, active for all system users.

You cannot download a presentation as a PPT.

The recommended way to do this would be to use the Presenter Pro App – either the iPad or the Laptop version. With the Presenter Pro App you can download your presentations for offline use – so you can be sure that they will work in front of your client, without an internet connection.

It is possible to present to a client using the online viewer from the CMS, but please note, you will always need an internet connection for this.

CMS
  • Published (Full): publishes the presentation live to the web, but also makes an offline capable version of the content which can be downloaded to the iPad or laptop App. Please note: this is a server intensive process and can take some time to complete – depending on the size of the presentation.
  • Published (Web): publishes the presentation live to the web only. This is a much quicker process. The presentation is NOT available for download, but it can still be sent via email, or shared online.
